If you’re reading this: thanks already.
Below is a slam-poem that I wrote while I was in Mexico on my solo Mom’ cation. If you want to hear more about why I ventured to Mexico solo at 27 weeks pregnant, click here.

STRONG, LIKE A MOTHER’
I want to build a strong body, cause I want to be a strong mother.
I want to build a strong body, ‘cause I’m not getting any younger
I want to build a strong body, no longer for the sake of “skinny,”
I want to build a strong body, for more than just feeling pretty.
I want to build a strong body; no matter my phase of life.
I want to build a strong body, ‘cause my husband deserves a healthy wife.
I want to build a strong body, one that is nourished to the brim.
I want to build a strong body, to perform: far beyond the gym.
I want to build a strong body, ‘cause my health is all I got.
I want to build a strong body, something that can never be borrowed or bought.
I want to build a strong body, so my daughter can agree:
That when you look after yourself: You take better care of your family.
