If you’re reading this, thanks already.
Lately I’ve had the privilege of coaching some pretty bad ass women. Women with goals, women with ambition, women who don’t sit still. Women at the top of the corporate ladder who only want to climb higher. Women who shatter glass ceilings.
But still, these women are stuck on how to take things to the next level.
These women hire me with the intention of pushing them harder, motivating them more, carving out time to increase their efficiency:
BUT, more time I spend with these perfectionist productivity queens, the more I realize: this PUSH mentality lS their demise.
The missing piece isn’t finding the time for one more client in their schedule, it isn’t creating the fastest to-go snacks they can scarf down at their desk, it isn’t capitalizing on the highest kCal burn in 30min or less and it isn’t waking up at 430AM to blast through personal development material after 5 hours of rest.
Against popular belief, sometimes women need a coach to say: WHOA GIRLFRIEND: SLOW THE F*CK DOWN.
Sometimes they need a coach to say: LESS IS MORE, DONE IS BETTER THAN PERFECT, YOU ARE WORTHY WHILE WORKING LESS.
Although this approach might sound taboo: a lifestyle coach telling you to DO LESS, carve out time for NOTHINGNESS and get intuitive with what self-care really means- IT WORKS.
Taking 1 step back can often lead to two steps forward. You must pull the arrow back to gain momentum to shoot it further.. and ya gotta do this without guilt or self-sabotage.
This rings true in life, in fitness, in relationships, in weight loss. If you’re not carving out time for YOUR SOUL (in whatever capacity that may be), you’re missing a fundamental part of the journey.
If you want to shatter glass ceilings. Stop placing them there with over-expectations of your time.
Sometimes a bath can be more productive than another meeting. Sometimes Netflix is more productive than another workout. Sometimes acupuncture is more productive than your last 3 email responses. Sometimes soul-time: is productive time.
It’s time to work smarter, and trust that in turn, you’ll work harder.
